Maybe you're switching agencies. Maybe a project ended. Or maybe you just want to tighten up your security. Whatever the reason, revoking access to your connected apps is simple.
Through Keygent (Recommended)
If you connected your apps through Keygent, disconnecting is a one-click process:
- Open your portal link Use the secure link your agency sent you, or ask them for a new one.
- Find the app you want to disconnect Navigate to the app category or use the overview to see all connected apps.
- Click the Disconnect button It's the X icon on the app card. You'll be asked to confirm.
- Confirm the disconnection Click "Yes" and the connection is immediately revoked. Your agency can no longer access that app.
What happens next? The API key stored in Keygent is permanently deleted. Your agency's systems will immediately lose access. You don't need to regenerate a new key unless you want to.
Directly in the App (Extra Secure)
For maximum security, you can also revoke the API key directly within each app:
- MailerLite: Integrations → API → Delete key
- Stripe: Developers → API keys → Delete
- Shopify: Settings → Apps → Delete app
- Slack: App settings → Delete app
This ensures the key itself is invalid, even if someone had copied it elsewhere.
Best Practice: Do Both
For complete peace of mind:
- Disconnect in Keygent (immediate)
- Regenerate or delete the key in the original app (permanent)
This way, even if there was a backup of your key somewhere, it's now useless.
